Coaching

We have read in a previous chapter about feedback.  Providing feedback on performance is important and a critical function of managers.

Coaching goes another step further, though.

Coaching is the collaboration of manager and employee with the purpose of the manager lending guidance and support to the employee’s achievement of career goals.  In this part, we will provide an overview of coaching and provide a template to follow.
