Compound Butter

Vicki Mendham

Compound butter is when you whip flavorings or seasonings into softened butter. They can be sweet or savor but add value to a bread basket. You can also sell them separately to increase revenue.

Some examples of sweet compound butter are honey, maple pecan, apricot, orange cranberry, cinnamon, et.

Some examples of savory compound butter are roasted garlic, lemon and herb, garlic and dill, Dijon, basil and garlic, etc.

If you are using unsalted butter, be sure to add salt.
